The Dashboard

This is the main interface, or Dashboard, of the KnowledgeTree Document Management System. The Dashboard displays news and quick links, and it provides a direct view of user-specific information, including: Archived document restoration requests; Pending documents; Checked-out documents; Subscription alerts; and Dependent documents.

Metadata

The KnowledgeTree DMS uses two types of metadata fields to perform advanced search within the repository. Administrators pre-define Generic Metadata. These are attributes defined as common to all documents in the DMS, such as 'Author'. Type Specific Metadata are attributes defined for a specific Document Type.

Search

KnowledgeTree™ offers Quick Search, which searches the content of files, and Advanced Search, which searches document metadata. Search results only include documents the user is authorized to access.

Folder Permissions

Folder permissions are assigned by default to the DMS Administrator, and to the creator of a folder. You use the Modify Folder Properties link to view, add, change, or remove permissions.
